1. Lifespan
Lifespan is a flexible concept. It varies depending on the manufacturer, the type of lamp and on the number of times the lamp is switched on and off and the time in between switching it off and on. The average life span for a TL 8 lamp varies between 8000 to 10 000 hours and for the TL 5 itvaries anywhere between 24000 to 30000 hours. This means that The TL 5 on average lasts 3 times as long as the Tl8 lamp. As a result you do not only reduce your energy and CO2 consumption. But you also strongly decrease you maintenaince costs by two thirds. This is specifically the case when you apply the Elam adapter which uses a hot start .
2. Light yield.
| Lumen |
The luminous flux(symbol F ) is a measurement of the amount of light (energy ) that a light source emits per second in all directions. For this measurement we use the term lumen
|
| Lux |
The lux symbol (lx ) is a unit of illumination. One lux is the luminous intensity emitted by one candela at a perpendicular angle directly on the surface at a distance of one meter from the source.
